Mrs. Jane Hamilton died on last Thursday evening at 8 o’clock of pneumonia, after a lingering and painful illness, aged 69 years. She was born near Somerset, in Pulaski County KY and came to Montgomery County in 18829 and was therefore, one of our oldest residents. She was the mother of Al Rominger and Tude and Nat Hamilton and was the oldest sister of the editor of this paper. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and the funeral services which were conducted from the home residence on High Street on Sunday afternoon at 1 o’clock, were conducted by Elder Colvin, pastor of the ME Church. The remains were interred by the grave of her son, Madison Rominger in the Masonic Cemetery. - transcribed by kbz
